In April 2024, Japanese government introduced the My Number Card Online Eligibility Verification System for judo therapists, massage therapists, shiatsu therapists, and acupuncturists. This system enables therapy centres to verify Japanese citizens' health insurance qualifications using My Number Card. The beauty of the system lies in its privacy protection as it only accesses the qualification information associated with the health insurance certificate, no patient treatment details can be accessed.
Therapy centres handling payment reimbursement can use the My Number Card Online Eligibility Verification App on their PC, smartphone, or tablet in conjunction with a qualified card reader, such as CIR415A Bluetooth® Contactless Smart Card Reader to verify the insurance qualification digitally.
